Electrical Inspection Services Ltd was established in 2008 by Chris Higgins. The business has steadily grown and now employs a small team of Electrical Inspectors.
Our aim is to provide Independent Electrical Inspection services across the Bay of Plenty.
We will cater to your requirements; whether you require installation of power metering, pre-purchase inspections, caravan WOF, cable locations or builders temporary power supplies. We are also authorised with competencies enabling connections to the Powerco and Unison networks.
Electrical Inspector

About you
You will have a mature, positive attitude, with a great work ethic. You prioritise health & safety and hold a clean drivers license. You will be a great communicator, and coupled with these skills you will;
• Be able to work both independently, and in a team environment
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Show initiative
• Take pride in your workmanship
• Have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
• 5 years Electrical industry experience would be desirable.
• Current Electrical Inspector practicing license are preferred.
• You may also have a background in electrical work, you could be a Registered Electrician looking to up skill.
About the role
Duties include inspecting Mains Work for new connections and alterations, make connections to the Power Co distribution network, certify complex metering situations. Great opportunity to apply fault finding skills and problem solving, learn about and inspect PV Solar systems and medical areas. Training will be given to gain competency to work on the PowerCo network.

• High voltage unit standards to meet Powerco’s competencies would be desirable (NZES Level 4).
• Current practicing license.
• You may also have a background in electrical work, you could be a Registered Electrician or an Electrical Inspector.
About the role
Your responsibilities will include the maintenance and construction of electrical distribution equipment. Mainly working on underground services but will also be required to change cross arms and help with transformer, pole, HV/LV line, HV/LV Fuse installs/replacements.
